My friends and I recently visited Gdansk and went out in Sopot. It was a lad’s weekend and as lads do we ended up in a strip / lap dancing club called Cocomo Club Sopot. Two of us used our debit cards in the club for a small genuine transaction. On returning to the UK we both discovered that several unauthorised transactions had been made from our accounts.
The amounts concerned were similar and very substantial, far in excess of the genuine transactions we authorised. We paid via a chip and PIN machine. We have both reported the card scam / fraud to our banks and the police and are currently waiting on our bank to dispute the transactions. If anyone has had any similar experiences we would be very grateful to hear from you. If anyone is reading this who is planning a trip in the near future and decide to visit Cocomo Club make sure you only take cash.
